ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This is a list of books that inspire me. Reading is an important tool in my healing process and I feel they provide important perspective and insight. I implore you to read…as much as possible, whenever you can. As much as our perspective should be shaped by our experiences, expanding that perspective through literature is so important.
I will try to be as organized as possible with this list, but I ask that you be patient. Is there is a book you would like to recommend, let me know and I will look into it!
Religious Texts
The Bible There is the usual King James version, but I suggest you also pick up a copy of The Message. It is a contemporary translation. I also find it focuses more on the “message” and does not get as bogged down with the dogma that King J translated into it.
The Bhagavad Gita: A Walkthrough for Westerners by Jack Hawley This is a beautiful prose version of the Indian Scripture that can infuse you with the energy necessary to shed “earthly suffering” and create the clarity necessary to hear the soul. It really does create a clear perspective
The Upanishads and The Dhammapada Introduced and translated by Eknath Easwaran, these deeply spiritual classics are beautifully unwrapped and presented in such a vivid and gentle manner. The lessons are eye opening and refreshing.
